THE NATURE OF DIGITAL OBSERVATION
OMEGA cinema and culture center, Yekaterinburg, Russia

Setup: Dolby Surround 7.1.
The nature of digital observation is the screening of audiovisual digital art on the big screen of a cinema theatre.

Artists have always been inspired by nature, changing their tool. If this method started with landscapes on easels, today with the help of computer technology new images are created - not only visual, but also sound.

We offer a look at the construction of nature from a digital angle through the optics of contemporary artists working with technology. In their works you can hear how natural phenomena generate sound, see how artificial neural networks create new images and landscapes, understand how trees can integrate themselves into the economy through cryptocurrency. Concrete images are replaced by abstraction, the artificial is merged or juxtaposed with the living, the modern is born from the primordial.

We invite the audience to plunge into the experience of observing digital nature in the comfortable hall of the Omega Cinema and Cultural Centre on a large screen and with spatial sound. The screening is accompanied by comments by the authors and curators about the works presented.
